Mother’s Day Is for Every Kind of Mom

Mother’s Day isn’t just for biological mothers. It’s a day to celebrate every mother figure who has shown up for us, stood by us, and loved us unconditionally. It’s for the mom who stayed up with you through heartbreak, holding you as you cried. For the mom who stepped in when no one else would. For the mom who brought you into this world and fought for both of you when it felt like the world was against you.

Mothers come in many forms—biological moms, adoptive moms, stepmoms, chosen moms, grandmothers, aunties, and even mentors who carry that nurturing spirit. What unites them is love—pure, unwavering, and given without conditions. All they ask in return is to be loved back.

Mother’s Day isn't about how much money you spend—it’s about the small gestures that show you care. It’s the hikes you take together, the handwritten notes, the home-cooked meals, and the time you choose to spend with them. These are the moments they’ll remember. These are the memories that last.

I consider myself incredibly lucky. I have a mom who poured her heart and soul into raising me, and I also have bonus moms—women who chose to love me just as I am. That kind of love is rare and beautiful.

So today, and every day, cherish those mother figures in your life. Time passes quickly, but the pictures, the laughter, and the love—they last a lifetime.
